Star Wars Resistance is the third modern animated series from the Star Wars galaxy taking place shortly before the events of Star Wars The Force Awakens. One of the first takeaways from this series is the anime-inspired style that is the first in the Star Wars animated series. While there are some fans out there that are disappointed by the first trailer and description of the series, I would remind them that the first trailers and episodes of Star Wars Rebels weren’t the greatest either. It was a show that really found its way by the end of the first season and became just as good as The Clone Wars and in some parts better.
A show about fighter pilots is something the Star Wars Universe need and while it may be Some fans of Star Wars may remember a YouTube video back in 2015 that was inspired by the classic computer game Tie Fighter that merged the anime world with Star Wars. A seven-minute anime video that has amassed over nine million views shows the potential that Star Wars Resistance has. For those of you who have never seen one of the greatest fan inspired Star Wars films ever to be created, you can watch it below.
The first synopsis for the upcoming animated series, Star Wars Resistance was released shortly after SDCC. Along with a description of the first episode, which is titled, “The Recruit”, we learn the main character’s name, Kazuda “Kaz” Xiono. You can check out all the juicy information below.
“Resistance fighter Poe Dameron tasks young pilot Kazuda “Kaz” Xiono with spying on the First Order. At the time, little was known about the secretive organization and its strength. In order to fulfill his mission, Kaz travels to the space station Colossus, which is being used by many ships as a port to refuel and do repairs. However, there are also dangerous races taking place there. After Kaz bragged with his piloting skills at his arrival there, he is soon drawn into one of the races…”
The one-hour series premiere of Star Wars Resistance will make its debut on October 7th on Disney Channel (10 p.m. ET/PT) and DisneyNOW. Two additional new episodes will be available via the DisneyNOW app and Disney Channel VOD, giving kids and families access to the series wherever and whenever they want to watch.
