Well we finally know who Matt Damon and Luke Hemsworth are playing in Thor: Love and Thunder. Oh, and Melissa McCarthy is Hela.
Yep, once again Asgard, or in this case New Asgard are putting on some theatrics. Not only are Matt Damon and Luke Hemsworth playing Loki and Thor respectively, but it seems Hela turns up this time also. Of course, since this is just a play, and Hela is dead, she will be played by Melissa McCarthy.

The set photos below, show that indeed we were right that a stage was being built in New Asgard, or the set anyway. Now we can see clear images of Damon as Loki, Luke Hemsworth as Thor, and McCarthy as Hela. This fits so perfectly for me with Taiki Waititi’s humor. I can just imagine Thor turning up in New Asgard and seeing the events of Ragnarok played out in a comedic fashion. The fact McCarthy is Hela, or fHela perhaps I should say, as is the current trend, is brilliant.
One would imagine this would only be a small scene in the movie. However, who knows whether these Asgardians could appear anywhere else in the movie? From what I have seen of rumors, (nothing publishable) Valkyrie will only have a small role in Love and Thunder. It’s possible that the scenes being filmed currently are in New Asgard and Valkyrie, being their current leader, will remain when Thor leaves. Just guess work, but if we take Waititi’s words to heart about the inclusion of Space Sharks, then I don’t see them remaining on Earth for long.
