Mena Massoud Talks Ezra Bridger Casting Rumors

Mena Massoud Talks Ezra Bridger Casting Rumors

Check this out as Mena Massoud talks Ezra Bridger casting rumors. Back some time ago when it was revealed that Mena was in talks to play Ezra, the star released an intriguing Instagram post. The post had a quote associated with the character Ezra Bridger. Then, all went quiet. However LRM then learned from our sources that Massoud had signed on the dotted line and will eventually be confirmed as our live-action Ezra Bridger.

When we may see Massoud announced as Ezra is unknown at this time? But we assure you, it’s happening. However until Lucasfilm decides to make that knowledge public, Massoud cannot confirm or deny his involvement. As such, when asked recently by Screen Rant, in a video below I thought Massoud handled the question with expertise.

For those who cannot watch, or don’t want to. Here is the transcript. Here is what Massoud said when asked specifically about that Instagram post.

Mena Massoud Talks Ezra Bridger

“Yeah. Just manifesting, just manifesting, trying different things. Yeah, there’s not much more I can say about that, but, you know, I had heard murmurings that this role was coming up and this is becoming a real thing. So I just kinda wanted to throw my name in the ring and — yeah, just part of manifesting what you want.”

Bear in mind that when Massoud says he heard rumblings about this role coming up, they were not the same rumors we follow, he means from inside the industry. If that isn’t confirmation Ezra is coming to live-action I don’t know what is. I’m guessing he heard about this through his agent initially.

As to why he posted on Instagram?

“I think we live in an age now that’s so different than ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, Hollywood, where there was no social media. It was really just your representatives, putting things out there for you. But now, we have the ability to put things out there for ourselves because of social media and because we can put things out there. So yeah, I just wanted to put it out there, I guess… It would be a dream come true.”

Massoud then went on to explain why being in Aladdin has prepared him for a step like Star Wars.

“Obviously, I’ve already had one of my dreams come true with Aladdin, but I also think I could just really do it justice. I’ve worked on that kind of big, massive set before on Aladdin. I think I have that under my belt now and thankfully the film did really well, so I think I’ve proven that I can be successful in that environment.”

” I think it would just be a great opportunity to take everything that I learned on a set like Aladdin and implement it into the Star Wars or DC or Marvel universe. We’re talking about manifesting, so yeah, it would mean a lot, it would mean a lot. I think I would also do a solid job and work really hard. I like what they’re doing with that world and how they’re expanding the universe.”

You’ve gotta love the way Massoud played this one, like he’s still out there wanting the role if Lucasfilm happens to come calling. There’s a few more experienced stars could learn a few lessons from Mena here. LRM are so confident of this one we have already staked our growing Star Wars insider reputation on it. I can’t ask readers to take what we say as fact. However, just remember who called it first (the signed on part only) when this one gets announced eventually.
