According to a new rumor its seems we could see Michael B Jordan back for Black Panther 2. This comes from the folks over at FandomWire who also earlier this week shared some supposed plot details for Black Panther 2. The outlet says that they have learned from sources that Jordan will return as Eric Killmonger in Black Panther 2.

Whilst this may seem initially very surprising given it seems Eric died in Black Panther, it’s not too out there. Remember years ago Angela Bassett, who plays T’Challa’s mother had revealed that everyone was coming back for the sequel, including Michael B. Jordan. Therefore this is not the first rumor we have published saying that Killmonger could return. However, this one seems more likely given that the pieces of the Black Panther 2 puzzle are starting to come together.

So far we know that T’Challa won’t be recast. Is there a way Marvel could make it work that a changed Killmonger becomes the new Black Panther? Michael B. Jordan is a huge popular star and would in reality be a great Black Panther, just not T’Challa himself. He has the royal lineage, the Vibranium infused blood, etc. The only problem with that theory is that last him he took the crown he tried to start a World War and T’Challa had to kinda kill him for it.

According to this same source, Black Panther 2 begins with the death of T’Challa ‘in suit’ and that Shuri takes over as the leader of Wakanda. No reference was made around who will wear the Black Panther suit though, which is still up for grabs it seems?
