Michael Keaton Confirmed As The Flash Begins Filming

The Flash has finally begun filming after years of development issues and delays. Oh, and Michael Keaton confirmed to be returning as Batman for this movie as well. The Wrap received confirmation yesterday from Keaton’s talent agency that the actor is indeed appearing in The Flash.

This is a piece of casting we have known for ages really. However even Keaton himself seemed a little unsure when he has spoken about it. Last time he cited COVID as a reason that he still had to make sure it was the right call. At the time I said, it sounded like Keaton had agreed in principal, but just wanted to make sure safety was being looked at.

It really was only a matter of time I think before Keaton signed on the dotted line. Since Keaton’s last comment some rumors began swirling that Christian Bale was going to be used instead. I always figured that was just clickbaiters capitalizing on fan fears. However there have been some more realistic rumors which say Bale could make a small appearance, however that remains to be seen. For now though, we know that we have at least two versions of Batman in this movie. The current Batman to Barry Allen, played by Ben Affleck, and the old Batman played by Michael Keaton that we assume is a multiverse/timeline thing.

We also found out yesterday was the first day of filming on The Flash. Check out the post below, initially posted to Instagram by The Flash director Andy Muschietti.

As you’d expect, sadly, this Twitter post was inundated with fans promoting or asking questions about restoring the Snyder Verse. I’m so over that campaign now, but then I was well over the release the Snyder Cut movement and eventually they got their own way. Maybe WB will have to bow down if fans keep review bombing and spamming all their movies. What about if, you know, The Suicide Squad and The Flash are actually good? The problem for many fans is this. If The Flash gets to film and be released without being in canon with Snyder’s movie and is successful, then that’s it. So I get the urgency, but I still think it’s in vain.

Anyhooooo, let us know what you think of Michael Keaton confirmed for The Flash which has now started filming.
