Today is the release of Amazon Prime Videos’ The Voyeurs. This is an erotic thriller written and directed by Michael Mohan. This type of subgenre doesn’t often see mainstream attention. Often because studios are careful with heavily sexualized characters and stories. They are especially because of audiences that are heavily critical about them being too sexual. But with The Voyeurs Amazon is taking a chance to see how audiences react to a film like this. Testing the boundaries of how much we are comfortable within our films.
The Voyeurs follows a Pippa and Thomas, a new age couple that is moving in together. As they settle in they realize that they can see right into one of their neighbor’s apartments. Thus being able to watch them have sex with each other. As well as to witness infidelity. While fun at first this starts to cause a rift between the two and leads them down a dark path of lust and temptation.

With the release of the film today on Amazon Prime Video, Emmanuel Gomez spoke with the writer and director of the film Michael Mohan. In our interview, we talk about the relationship between Pippa and Thomas. This includes what kind of effect watching their neighbors has on them. He also gives us an insight into how they shot the film, which was really clever. Being that a lot of it was shot from one building to another. It was a great interview that you can check out down below!
When Pippa (Sydney Sweeney) and Thomas (Justice Smith) move into their dream apartment, they notice that their windows look directly into the apartment opposite – inviting them to witness the volatile relationship of the attractive couple across the street. But when they attempt to anonymously intercede in their lives, they unwittingly set in motion a chain of events that will lead to disaster.
Amazon Prime Video‘s The Voyeurs is now playing exclusively on their streaming.
