Mikkelsen’s Role In Indy 5 Revealed? | Barside Buzz

The latest Barside Buzz is that the Indiana Jones Disney+ spin-off series shelved as Lucasfilm told to focus on Star Wars by Disney.

Mads Mikkelsen’s role in Indy 5 revealed? Yes according the the folks over at The Illuminerdi. The outlet has ran an exclusive report saying that sources have given them the inside track on Mikkelsen’s character within Indiana Jones 5. Mikkelsen of course was recently announced as part of the cast along with a few other actors we assume are taking large roles in the James Mangold directed sequel.

Here is exactly what was reported by the outlet below.

According to our sources, Mads Mikkelsen will be playing the villain in this new installment of Indiana Jones. His character is described to us as a Nazi scientist enlisted into NASA by the United States government to work on the space agency’s moon landing initiative. Shaunette Renee Wilson will be playing Mads Mikkelsen’s villain’s CIA handler responsible for “babysitting” the Nazi scientist turned NASA recruit. There will also be a female villain, “an evil and brutal killer” who will work with Mads Mikkelsen’s character. According to our sources, Scarlett Johansson actually passed on this role previously.

Now, what I must stress here, is that the source article goes into speculation mode from this point on. If you want to read that speculation then by all means check the link above. However I wanted to present just the information they got from their source here instead. You see many outlets are running this rumor as confirmation that space and aliens will be back on the menu for Indy 5. Honestly, I don’t see that as necessarily the way things will go.

Mikkelsen's role in Indy 5

It makes sense if you want to bring back a Nazi, that you’d use Operation Paperclip. After all Wernher Von Braun similarly started working for a certain Mr. Hitler designing V2 rockets which were fired towards London right up until close to the end of the war. However the U.S. collected a lot of Nazi scientists who were working on avenues that the Americans were not. Von Braun famously helped the U.S with rocket technology and was involved in the space race.

In other words the NASA angle does not mean a return to aliens for Indiana Jones. But it is a great way to bring back a Nazi in a period some years after the war has ended.

Has Mads Mikkelsen’s role in Indy 5 been revealed, or not? As always with rumors, take a heft dose of salt for now. Leave any thoughts below if you can.
