Miles Morales Headed To The MCU? | LRM’s Barside Buzz

Sony Pictures Amy Pascal says Miles Morales live-action will happen sometime after the next two Spider-Man movies.

Miles Morales may be joining the MCU.

Sony and Marvel Studios certainly seem to be busy. Most rumors over the past few weeks have revolved around Spider-Man in some way or another. We had rumors about Venom fighting Spidey in the third MCU Spider-Man film, as well as rumors about Doc Strange mentoring Peter in the same movie. We’ve also heard rumors about Jamie Foxx, Kirsten Dunst, and Dane DeHaan all returning in some capacity down the line. Though, regardless of what the rumors are, all seem to revolve around one main idea. That idea is a living and breathing multiverse.

While nothing has been confirmed, the trend is clear: Sony and Marvel Studios are dead-set on Peter Parker interacting with more characters than you can shake a stick at. It’s almost not surprising that another big name is rumored to join the MCU. This latest tidbit comes courtesy of MCU Cosmic, and it’s kind of a biggie.

According to the outlet, one of their reliable sources states that the studios have found their Miles Morales. You read that right. It’s not just news that they’re throwing around the proverbial Miles Morales idea football. Miles Morales has been cast — at least, according to the rumor. Sadly, there are no further details surrounding this, and we don’t even know if it’s for Spider-Man 3. But, if true, it’s pretty big news.

As with all rumors, it comes with a helpful heap of salt, ready for dilution. While their track record isn’t perfect (and let’s be real, no one is), MCU Cosmic definitely knows some people in the know. Unlike other rumors, however, the idea of them actually casting Miles Morales does seem to put their source in the hot seat. If this turns out to be false, it’s pretty damning of their lack of actual knowledge with the project. Nixing a casting isn’t anywhere near as common as a reworking of a story in the early stages.

But, this does make sense. Donald Glover played Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and it did hint at a potential for Miles to show up at some point. But how is the question. And, if so, does that means Tom Holland’s days are numbered in the MCU, or is it another tally in favor of a big-bad multiverse?

There are certainly a lot of directions this can go, and the studios aren’t wanting for options. How do you feel about Miles Morales joining the MCU? Do you think it’s too soon? Let us know your thoughts down below!
