Mission: Impossible 8 has been delayed by almost a year and it’s getting re-titled, check it out, plus more Paramount delays. The official PR from Paramount says that Mission: Impossible 8 is no longer releasing next Summer, but now May 23rd, 2025. In addition the movie’s subtitle, which was Dead Reckoning Part Two, will be changed. Currently no word on what the new title will be. However, the movie will still pick up from where Dead Reckoning Part One left off.

I guess going forward though, it’ll be weird watching a movie titled Dead Reckoning Part One and knowing there is no Part Two. Maybe they’ll call it Deader Reckoning? Or go with the classic Alien sequel title and have Dead Reckonings? Irrespective, we are going to have to wait until May of 2025 to see it. The movie will release with a three week Imax exclusive run, which the first part, erm, prequel previous movie did not have.

There are some more date changes to notify when it comes to Paramount.

Prequel movie A Quiet Place: Day One slips a couple of months to June 28, 2024. An untitled SpongeBob SquarePants film slips from Spring 2025 to December 19th. Additionally the fantasy/comedy IF starring John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds moves up one week to May 17, 2024.

As for Dead Reckoning Part One, the movie definitely turned a profit with a global haul at the box office of around $570M. As yet I’ve not watched Dead Reckoning as I have been awaiting it’s arrival (not VOD) on streaming. Once it does I’ll be all set for a night watching some hijinx from the M:I team. Not sure Mission: Impossible is a theatre visit from me, but I definitely enjoy the movies.
