IMAX has just released a new poster for the upcoming action thriller, Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Soaring high above the clouds, the art depicts Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt perched on the outside of a helicopter as he attempts to outsmart his foe in the next aircraft over.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) in a race against time after a mission gone wrong. Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby also join the dynamic cast with filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie returning to the helm.”

Admittedly, I’m not super thrilled with this poster, as it’s pretty much just an expansion of that very first image of the film we saw, but I guess they can’t all be winners.

As always, IMAX allows audiences to get a load of 26% more footage than your average theater — but only for select scenes that were filmed specifically for the format. As with many big-budget films, this will likely give extra scope and style to the action scenes in which it’s used, but don’t expect it to be an Avengers: Infinity War-type level of immersion, as only portions of the movie received the treatment.
