The Catholic Church can’t win them all in terms of exorcisms. With any failed exorcism, there is fallout from those consequences that question the ideas of faith, reputation, and beliefs. In Agnes, the narrative feature film explores an exorcism at a convent that went sideways and the aftermath life of a nun who lost faith in her church.

Here’s the official synopsis of Agnes:

A nun’s disturbing behavior sparks rumors of a demonic possession at a remote convent. When a priest-in-waiting and his disillusioned mentor are sent to investigate, their methods backfire, leaving a wake of terror and trauma.

The film stars Molly C. Quinn, Jake Horowitz, Ben Hall, and Hayley McFarland. Mickey Reece directed the movie from a script written by John Selvidge and Reece.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta talked with actress Molly C. Quinn and director Mickey Reece on the film. We discussed making this film as a different type of exorcism movie, life after a nunnery, the cast, and the obsession of biting people’s faces off.

Molly C. Quinn was best known for playing Alexis Castle, the daughter of the lead character in ABC’s television series Castle and voicing Bloom in the Nickelodeon’s revival of Winx Club from 2011 to 2015. Her other major works included The Sacrifice, Winx Club: The Secret of the Lost Kingdom, We’re the Millers, and Welcome to Happiness. Her film debut came in a short role in the American comedy Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story in 2007.

Mickey Reece is a director with more than three dozen films in his credits. His films range from dramas and horror that pleases the art house cinema audiences. Some of his other films included Climate of the Hunter, Mickey Reece’s Alien, Strike, Dear Mistress, and Cure His Heart, and T-Rex.

Agnes made its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival 2021.
