Morbius | Al Madrigal On His Excitement For The Latino Representation In This Film [Exclusive]

Morbius

Today audiences can flock to theaters and witness Sony Pictures’ expansion of their Spider-Man universe with the all-new feature film, Morbius. This classic Marvel Comics character first appeared in 1971 in The Amazing Spider-Man #101. Written by Roy Thomas and originally designed by Gil Kane. In this live-action feature film, Michael Morbius is played by the talented actor Jared Leto. We will witness his struggle with the line between a hero and a villain.

While most people will focus on Leto’s role and the expansion of Sony’s Spiderverse, there is one aspect of this film that may go unnoticed by the general audience. The diversity of the film, specifically the Latino representation in Morbius. It is directed by Daniel Espinosa and stars names like Adria Arjona and Al Madrigal. Something that the director and cast members was very special to them as they weren’t portraying stereotypical or starring in a “Latino movie”.
