To drum up excitement for a new Mortal Kombat movie, Warner Brothers released a few of the character posters. Not just any character posters, but motion character posters.

On Tuesday night, the studio released character posters for Sub-Zero, Mileena, Kano, and Kung Lao through its official Twitter account @MKMovie.

It’s expected more character posters to be released later today to drum up more interest in its anticipated trailer tomorrow at 9 a.m. PT.

The film stars Lewis Tan, Josh Lawson, Jessica McNamee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Joe Taslim, Tadanobu Asano, Mehcad Brooks, Ludi Lin, Chin Han, and Sisi Stringer. Essentially, the film is practically bringing its entire lineup of fighters in the new movie. Simon McQuoid directed the project from the screenplay by Greg Russo and Dave Callaham.

What we know so far is that the new Mortal Kombat is an R-rated reboot. Expect plenty of violence, blood, and gore. Hopefully, someone gets their spinal cord ripped out.

Here’s the synopsis:

In Mortal Kombat, MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage—or why Outworld’s Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family’s safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with. Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high-stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana—the immense power from within his soul—in time to save not only his family but to stop Outworld once and for all?

Mortal Kombat releases in theaters, IMAX, and limited time on HBOMax on April 16.

Can’t wait for the brutality.
