Moses Ingram Trains With A Lightsaber For Obi-Wan Kenobi Appearance

Obi-Wan Kenobi Release Date And Poster

On her Instagram yesterday, Moses Ingram trains with a Lightsaber for her upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi appearance. We still don’t know exactly who Ingram is playing in Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, we do know the character will be a Force user. Ingram already teased fans her character ‘plays with Lightsabers’, now we can see some of that play for ourselves. I don’t appear to be able to post the video directly, however see for yourself Here.

Ingram is using a blue Lightsaber for training in the video. That has led some fans to deduce the actor is playing a Jedi who survived Order 66. Some fans had previously been convinced Ingram would be playing an Inquisitor of Darth Vader. Honestly, this video doesn’t rule out or confirm either option. Just because Ingram’s training saber is blue, does not mean she is playing a Jedi, after all, the color matters little for training. I could see either option working here with the information we have.

I know fans take a hairy fit every time Lucasfilm introduce another living Jedi. Some fans seem to want there to be only Yoda and Obi-Wan left after Order 66, and frankly the way it all happened, that doesn’t seem plausible to me. Sidious did manage to wipe out hundreds of Jedi, along with younglings on that fateful day. Though, I find it had to imagine every single other Jedi was with Clones and was killed easily.

The only time Yoda ever mentions the ‘last of the Jedi’ was in Return of the Jedi, and even then we kinda know he was wrong. For a start Ahsoka was still around at that time and for years after Yoda’s death. What is clear is that Yoda and Obi-Wan appear to be the only surviving members of the Jedi Council. Ergo, without leadership, any other Jedi are on their own and being hunted. It might be quite fun for Obi-Wan to have to deal with a fleeing Jedi and the threat her presence could bring to Luke? That’s an interesting place mentally to put Obi-Wan and that usually equates to drama. His primary goal is protect Luke, but if a Jedi survived and is seeking aid from her former leader?

Of course, Ingram could also just be playing an Inquisitor, Force sensitive and trained partially to hunt down Jedi for Vader. If an Inquisitor was to come across Kenobi though and report back, you can bet your bottom Dollar that Vader is jumping to hyperspace immediately.

What do you think of the video as Moses Ingram trains with a Lightsaber? Where do you stand, is she going to a be a goodie or a baddie? Any thoughts below as always.
