Natasha Esco in Motion Detected

Innovative artificial intelligence is the way of the future as it is slowly incorporated into everyone’s homes. In the psychological thriller Motion Detected, a woman learns the haunts of a high-tech smart house as she copes with her trauma alone.

The film stars Natasha Esca (Narcos: Mexico), Katelyn MacMullen (General Hospital), Roland Buck III (Chicago Med), Carlo Mendez (The Bay), Julie Brister (Goliath), and Bob Clendenin (Cougar Town). Filmmakers Justin Gallaher and Sam Roseme make their feature film directorial debut.

Here is the official synopsis:

Eva narrowly escaped being murdered during a recent terrifying home invasion in Mexico City. She and her husband decide to relocate to Los Angeles, where she can recuperate. But when her husband has to travel for business, she’s left alone in an unfamiliar place and suffering from paranoia. She’s consoled by the smart home security system, but the technology is difficult to master, and she starts to wonder if it will actually keep her safe to take over her life.

Motion Detected can go in many different directions with this storyline with the paranoia of technology, home invasion, or a psychologically distressed woman. Nonetheless, independent horror films tell great frightful stories without the blood and gore of big-budget films.

The film will make its world premiere at the upcoming 2022 Dances With Films Festival. It will debut on cable VOD and digital HD, including iTunes, Amazon, Vudu, Comcast, and Verizon, on May 19.
