MultiCon Announces Updated Lineup for Charity Event

MultiCon

Charity fan event MultiCon released its second wave of panels and celebrity guests ahead of its big date on Saturday, August 8.

The lineup will also include the cast of the very popular Netflix reality dating series Love on the Spectrum, with fan favorites Dylan Aguilar, Subodh Garg, Aarti Garg, Devin Morrissey, and Melissa Ramirez. Casting producer Chelsea Darnell will join the cast in person, with cast members Dani Bowman and Adan Correa virtually for this one-of-a-kind roast.

“As a former special educator who has long known the extraordinary potential and creativity of those living on the autism spectrum, I’ve watched the Love on the Spectrum cast undo decades of misconception and misunderstanding with nothing but joy, vulnerability, and profound authenticity,” said Traci Donnelly, president and founder of Make an Impact. “They have shown the world a fundamental truth: that autism is not something to overcome—it’s simply another way of experiencing life, love and connection. We are so grateful to welcome autism in entertainment, DaniMation, and the Love on the Spectrum cast into the Make An Impact network, and to celebrate with them at MultiCon.”

Make An Impact is this year’s charitable partner with MultiCon. Last year, the event raised over $100,000 in recovery efforts in Altadena and Pacific Palisades due to the wildfires.

“There’s a reason Love on the Spectrum means so much to so many of us,” said Michael Tessler, CEO of Multihouse and creator of MultiCon. “It’s a show about showing up as yourself and finding people who love you for it, about patience, honesty, and the kind of connection that doesn’t need to be edited into something it’s not. This cast has spent years showing audiences what authentic connection looks like, on screen and off. Having them at MultiCon, a con with a cause, felt like the most natural pairing we could ask for.”

With the anticipated animated film Forgotten Island from DreamWorks Animation, co-directors Joel Crawford and Januel P. Mercado will present their Filipino culture-inspired film about two best friends trying to make their way home after losing parts of their memories. This film is in theaters on Friday, September 25. There will also be a fan signing after the Q&A.

There will be a panel with The Walking Dead, celebrating its latest installment, The Walking Dead: Dead City, with Scott M. Gimple and actress Emily Kinney, who is reprising her role as Beth. The Walking Dead superfan Shar Jackson will moderate this panel.

Also at MultiCon, there will be a special reunion panel featuring the series creator Craig Bartlett with some of the cast voices and writers, including Jamil Walker Smith (Gerald), Anndi McAfee (Phoebe), Danny Cooksey (Stoop Kid), and writers Joe Purdy and Rachel Lipman. There will also be a special virtual appearance from Francesca Marie Smith, the original voice of Helga. Bartlett will be receiving MultiCon’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
