Mystery character teased for Episode 5 of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier? Oh no, here we go again!

WandaVision had so many teases, most of which came from actors, that fans got a little overexcited. In the end whilst there were some finale revelations they were nothing like what the fans had built in their heads. In my opinion we can portion some of the blame for that on Teyonnah Parris and Paul Bettany. One was probably a little inexperienced with her Marvel interview skills and one was trolling fans hard, which I respect. Yet, here we are again with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier showrunner Malcom Spellman. Spellman recently spoke with Rotten Tomatoes and he teased someone he’s excited for us to meet in Episode 5m which is the penultimate episode of the show.

Now, if this truly pays off, I won’t care. Clearly Mephisto isn’t showing up, but if it is someone surprising I think we’ll all just enjoy it. The problem from here will be how much fans build this up and who the collectives fanbase decides makes the best fit in their heads. Again, I say if the show pulls it off, then why not tease us fans? However, I don’t think we can take it is this is Hugh Jackman playing Yora Dumas, the friendly janitor with a heart. With that in mind, I can’t help but feel Spellman should have just stayed quiet. We fans are all watc8ng the show and we are enjoying it, we don’t need any ore teasing at this point. However, Spellman did mention it and since you come here to read this stuff, I better share the quote.

“There are characters in our series who I would love to see partnered with like…it’s a very, very grounded character…partnered with one of the big world-shakers like Thor or someone like that. The personality is so strong, it’s the episode five character. I’d love to see that character with Thor.”

So other than a grounded take on Al Pacino playing Mephisto, who could this be. I’m going to stay a little more simple with this one. I wonder if we could be looking at a suited up Isiah Bradley for some reason. Or, even Patriot himself Eli showing up. Might not be the case but it would make a lot of sense. What we can glean from this is that this is likely a new character not previously seen in the MCU. For a start this character has never interacted with Thor, who’s met most people at some point. This character is not a threat level 1 hero that’s for sure, someone more grounded as Spellman says.

I’m honesty not even going to speculate for now, maybe someone will make more sense across the next two episodes before we get there and it will be worth speculating. For now, this could be just as easily Yora Dumas as it could Squirrel Girl. We can however assume it’s not a female character, because in a previous Interview Spellman used the ‘him’ pronoun when talking about a character he wanted us to see. Now, this could be a completely different character from the one he’s talking abo in the RT interview, but who knows?
