New Amsterdam has begun the last half of its final season as the lovable hospital staff is on their final shifts at New Amsterdam Medical Center.
The series started in 2018 on NBC and is praised for its touching medical drama that portrays the medical staff’s humanism towards its patients. It is currently in its fifth and final season, with the last episode to air on January 17.

After a turbulent year of sacrifice and hardship, Medical Director Max Goodwin and the team of New Amsterdam begin a well-deserved new chapter in their lives.
The series stars Ryan Eggold, Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims, Anupam Kher, Tyler Labine, and Sandra Mae Frank. David Schulner created the television series based on the book “Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital” by Eric Manheimer.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with actor Tyler Labine, who portrays Dr. Ignatius “Iggy” Frome, the psychiatrist and head of the psychiatry department at New Amsterdam. We discussed what made this a successful series, the farewell season, his character, and what to expect for the rest of the season.
Tyler Labine is a Canadian-American actor and comedian. Before New Amsterdam, his previous television series credits included Breaker High, Invasion, Reaper, and Deadbeat. Also, he starred in the cult horror comedy Tucker & Dale vs Evil. Other film credits included Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Escape Room, and Super Troopers 2.
New Amsterdam airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
