Professor Alec Mercer may be one of the best behavioral scientists out there, but he has a team that assists him in making psychological observations from every angle.

The drama series stars Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order, The Flash), Maahra Hill (Delilah, Black-ish), Travina Springer (Ms. Marvel, The Mule), Molly Kunz (Widows, The Wolf and the Lion), and Arash DeMaxi (Partner Track, Modern Love).

The Irrational follows world-renowned professor of behaviorial science Alec Mercer (Jesse L. Martin) as he lends his unique expertise to high-stakes cases and mysteries. His insight and unconventional approach to understanding human behavior lead him to work alongside varying clients ranging from the FBI to everyday people caught in perplexing situations desperate for answers. With the help of his trusted team and social science experiments, Alec solves crimes and uncovers the truth to answer intriguing, and irrational, questions.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with actor Max Lloyd-Jones about being the newest cast member of the series, his character, the background, and his love of psychology.

Max Lloyd-Jones started his career as a child actor in the 2005 film The Sandlot 2 as David Durango. He made television appearances over the years in many series, including Teen Wolf, iZombie, Scream: The TV Series, Once Upon a Time, and Reign. In 2017, he played Blue Eyes in the War for the Planet of the Apes. He also appeared as Lieutenant Reed in The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian.

The Irrational is on NBC (10-11 p.m. ET/PT).
