The Shitrockers have the opportunity of a lifetime to tour with Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters in Europe. Alas, not all music tours run smoothly.

The Canadian comedy troupe Trailer Park Boys reunites in the mockumentary film Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties: The Bubbles and the Shitrockers Story. Bubbles’ favorite characters, Ricky, Julian, and Randy, are on this adventurous road trip that has everyone laughing out loud.

Here is the official synopsis:

While Bubbles and his band, “The Shitrockers,” are playing shows around Nova Scotia, a viral Internet clip lands them a European tour opening for Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters. With Randy as their roadie, they head to Prague but soon get kicked off the tour, busking to survive. Can Ricky and Julian come to the rescue?

“Not just fiction on screen, Bubbles and The Shitrockers are also a real-life musical act fronted by Mike Smith. The band will release a new 14-track album this fall, following their successful run on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify, as well as extensive touring across the United States and Europe, including performances alongside Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters.

The cast includes Mike Smith, Robb Wells, JP Tremblay, Pat Roach, Billy Bob Thornton (Sling Blade), Martin Freeman (The Hobbit), and Robert Sheehan (The Umbrella Academy).

LRM Online’s Gig Patta was on the carpet premiere of Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties: The Bubbles and the Shitrockers Story.

The whole cast was in attendance, including Mike Smith, Pat Roach, Robb Wells, JP Tremblay with Billy Bob Thornton, Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, and director Charles Lightening. Special guests at the screening included Matt Groening of The Simpsons, supermodel Susan Holmes McKagan, and Tom Arnold (True Lies).

Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties: The Bubbles of the Shitrockers Story is in select theaters nationwide, including Los Angeles, on Friday, December 6.
