The music industry is a tricky business.

It requires hard work, sacrifice, and plenty of risks just to be successful. And then staying on top of that industry after success is even more challenging.

This new Netflix comedy series, co-created by Shea Serrano and Max Searle, is about three young people pursuing their musical dreams with plenty of mishaps.

The series is also executive-produced by SB Projects, Anne Clements, and Daddy Yankee.

The cast includes Tyler Dean Flores (Reefa, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Emma Ferreira (Learn to Swim, Midnight at the Paradise), Jordan Mendoza (Kaleidoscope, ZIWE), and Courtney Taylor (Insecure, Abbott Elementary).

Here is the description of the series:

From small-town Florida to the bustling beaches and bright lights of Miami, Neon follows three friends as they hustle their way to making it big in the world of reggaeton. The eight-episode comedy captures not only the three besties’ larger-than-life dreams, but also the harsh realities and funny mishaps of surviving the music industry. Tyler Dean Flores plays Santi, a rising reggaeton artist who, with the help of his friends Ness (Emma Ferreira), Felix (Jordan Mendoza), and A&R rep Mia (Courtney Taylor), hopes to become the biggest star in reggaeton. Or at least pay his rent.

Netflix also released its official playlist on Spotify and Apple Music, including the original song “Exagerao” produced by Taina.

Neon streams on Netflix beginning October 19.
