Netflix’s Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Teaser Unleashes More Dinosaur Thrills

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous gets a teaser along with a whole host of images.

It still boggles my mind that the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World franchise is twenty-seven years old. Now in 2020, we are close to getting the sixth feature film in the franchise, Jurassic World: Dominion. Along with that film, it was announced last year that there would be an animated spin-off on Netflix titled, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. Today they have released their first teaser trailer that you can check out above.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is set against the timeline of Jurassic World. It will follow a group of six teenagers who were supposed to be enjoying a camp experience, but end up trapped on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. Things get worse as dinosaurs are unleashed all over the Island. Unable to reach the outside world, their survival will depend on each other. Not only will they be faced with deadly dinosaurs but discover hidden secrets that can threaten the world itself.

This CG animated series premieres on September 18th, 2020. It will feature eight, twenty-two-minute episodes. Showrunners for the series are Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley. Executive Producers are Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, Frank Marshall, Kreamer, Hammersley, and Lane Lueras. The animated studio for this project is DreamWorks Animation. The production companies are Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will feature the voice acting of Paul-Mikél Williams as Darius, Jenna Ortega as Brooklynn, Ryan Potter as Kenji, Raini Rodriguez as Sammy, Sean Giambrone as Ben, Kausar Mohammed as Yaz, Jameela Jamil as Roxie, and Glen Powell as Dave.

As a huge fan of the franchise, I am looking forward to seeing this series. Although I will say that I am not a big fan of CG animation. Interesting that they are going to stick to the same model of a group of individuals escaping the island. I guess if the wheel isn’t broke, why fix it? I am also curious about the supposed secrets that they discover on this island. Well, in less than two months we shall get all the answers!
