Netflix’s Ozark Renewed For A Fourth And Final Season

Ozark Showrunner Talks Spin-Off Possibilities After Series Finale

Looks like Netflix’s Ozark is coming to an end. Today the streaming giant announced that their Emmy-winning series will wrap up with a fourth and final season. They have ordered 14 more episodes that will be split up into two equal parts. Here we will finally get to see the final chapter in the Byrde family’s journey that took them from the suburbs of Chicago to a criminal empire in the Ozarks.

Ozark debuted back in 2017 and has had three seasons. Each containing ten episodes each. The latest season hit the streaming service back at the end of March of this year. It stars Jason Bateman, who also serves an executive producer, along with Laura Linney, Julia Garner, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Charlie Tahan, and Lisa Emery. They are all set to return for the final season.

Executive Producer and Showrunner Chris Mundy shared his excitement about the upcoming season, “We’re so happy Netflix recognized the importance of giving Ozark more time to end the Byrdes’ saga right. It’s been such a great adventure for all of us — both on-screen and off — so we’re thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible.” Bateman also commented on the renewal, “A super-sized season means super-sized problems for the Byrdes. I’m excited to end with a bang(s).”

“Ozark is a gripping drama that has captivated audiences all around the world and garnered tremendous critical acclaim. We’re so grateful to Chris, Jason, Laura, Julia, and the entire cast and crew for all their tireless dedication to the show and can’t wait to see how the Byrdes’ journey comes to a close”, commented Cindy Holland, VP of Original Content.

Ozark is a great series that is very stressful at times. Every time you think the family is just about to get ahead for once, the rug gets pulled out from under them. If you haven’t seen the series, I recommend checking it out. I will admit that it starts a little slow but the overall story is worth it.

Currently, there is no set date for the release of the 4th season.  Production schedules are all up in the air at the moment and are consistently changing depending on the state’s status.
