New Aftershow For The Boys, An AWESOME Clip And A Renewal Announcement

The Boys

Amazon Prime Video’s original series, The Boys‘ panel and reveals is my favorite part of the first day of Comic-Con@Home. Not only did we get to spend time with the cast and executive producer during their panel, but we also got that crazy clip that is above.

Along with that, it was revealed that after every episode of the second season of The Boys, we will have extra content. This comes in the form of an aftershow titled, Prime Rewind: Inside The Boys. It will be hosted by Aisha Tyler. Here cast members, creative team members, and special guests will join her as they dive deeper into the events that take place in every episode.

Tyler commented that “The Boys is one of the smartest, most irreverent, unapologetically badass shows streaming. I became a fan during Season 1 and this season I’m stoked to be flying fans into the heart of the show as host of Prime Rewind: Inside The Boys. Season 2 is bigger, badder, and more audacious than ever before, so join me after every episode as we dig through the rubble pile of our feelings. I promise, we’ll get through it like The Boys — dysfunctional, but together.”

Tyler will also serve as executive producer with Michael Davies, Julia Cassidy, Eden Sutley, and Jennifer Ryan. It will debut on August 28th, for a look back at the first season. Then continue through the second season finale on October 9th.

Speaking of the second season finale, will that be the last time we see The Boys? Absolutely not! Just like last year ahead of their first season debut, Amazon Prime Video announced that it has officially ordered a third season of the series.

“Amazon, in a bold and historic push to expand their ‘weirdo’ demographic, has greenlit Season 3 of The Boys! The writers and I are hard at work in the (virtual) writer’s room and we’re sad to say, the world has given us way too much material. We hope to be shooting in early 2021, but that’s up to a microscopic virus,” said showrunner and executive producer Eric Kripke. “As if that wasn’t enough, we’re bringing you a Season 2 aftershow, Prime Rewind: Inside The Boys. Double entendre intended. Hosted by the incomparable Aisha Tyler and guest starring the cast and crew, it’s a deep dive into how we make this insane thing. Seriously, thanks to Sony, Amazon and the fans. We love making this show so much, and we’re thrilled we get to make more.”

I expected this announcement from Amazon Prime Video as The Boys is one of their most popular series. Now with an established fanbase, it has the potential to continue to grow. The aftershow seems like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Are you excited for the upcoming season of The Boys? Let us know in the comment section below!

Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys‘ second season kicks off on September 4th with the first three episodes. The first season can be now exclusively on their streaming service.
