New Clip From Reign Of The Supermen Features The Eradicator

Last July Warner Bros. Animation and DC Films released the film The Death of Superman, which is based on the classic Superman story from late 1992 through fall of 1993 that ran in Superman, Action Comics, The Adventures of Superman, Superman: Man of Steel, Justice League America and Green Lantern. The story follows Superman’s iconic fight with the monster Doomsday, which as everyone knows ends with his apparent death. Now the sequel to that film is ready to make it’s debut, titled Reign of the Supermen as various other individuals rise to claim the spot of Earth’s top hero.

One of those is a character named the Eradicator. He was created by an ancestor of Superman to preserve the purity of Krypton from the corruption of alien influences. He first appeared in DC Comics’ The Adventures of Superman in 1989 and depending on the version of the character has various creators. As part of the Reign of Superman storyline, he takes over as Superman in DC Comics’ Action Comics #687 in June of 1993. Today Warner Bros. Animations has released the first appearance of the Eradicator in the upcoming film, you can check out the clip above. His character will be voiced by Charles Halford.

The film will feature the voice of Jerry O’Connell as Superman, Jason O’Mara as Batman, Patrick Fabian as Hank Henshaw aka Cyborg Superman, Tony Todd as Darkseid, Toks Olagundoye as Cat Grant and Halford will also be voicing Bibbo Bibbowski as well as the already mentioned Eradicator.

Here is the synopsis for the film:
Reign of the Supermen finds Earth’s citizens – and the Man of Steel’s heroic contemporaries – dealing with a world without Superman. But the aftermath of Superman’s death, and the subsequent disappearance of his body, leads to a new mystery – is Superman still alive? The question is further complicated when four new super-powered individuals – Steel, Cyborg Superman, Superboy and the Eradicator – emerge to proclaim themselves as the ultimate hero. In the end, only one will be able to proclaim himself the world’s true Superman.
