It seems like it was not so long ago when we found out that Brooklyn Nine-Nine had been canceled by FOX after five seasons. Only to have social media explode with fans of the show campaigning for it’s return. Luckily it found a new home at NBC, and now we are about a month away from the debut of it’s sixth season. Yesterday, NBC finally released the trailer for the next season, which you can check out above!

If you are a fan of the show, you know about Jake Peralta’s love for the film Die Hard, which dictates a lot of his daily decisions. So it was only right for their trailer to pay homage to the classic Bruce Willis action film. Along with Peralta, we see the rest of the cast of Brooklyn Nine-Nine making comments about how great Peralta is, only to find out in the end that it is Peralta’s pitch for a recruitment video for their precinct. Peralta, the lead detective of the Nine-Nine is played by Andy Samberg.

For me one of the funniest parts of the trailer is right at the end where Captain Holt, played by Andre Braugher gives you the information for Brooklyn Nine-Nine in classic Holt fashion, reading off black and white text on the screen, not using the acronym “NBC” but saying that it premieres on the “National Broadcasting Corporation”. The fifth season of the show had left us on a cliffhanger regarding Holt’s potential promotion to NYPD Commissioner.

The show that was created back in 2013 by Dan Goor and Michael Schur, who are also responsible for Parks and Recreation, stars Samberg, Braugher, Stephanie Beatriz, Melissa Fumero, Chelsea Peretti, Joe Lo Truglio, Terry Crews, Dirk Blocker, and Joel Mckinnon Miller.
