New Exclusive Trailer For Jon Garcia’s LUZ

Luz

For some Jail is something that they only know about through movies and television. While others have had to, unfortunately, learn about it first hand because of bad choices. Whichever the case, for decades it has been a popular setting for films. For example, we have some classic films like American Me, Blood In Blood Out, and others that show how one struggles to survive on the inside. One constant theme in these films is the importance of the relationships that you build, as they can be the difference between life and death.

Next month, from Dark Star Pictures, comes a new film from Jon Garcia titled Luz. The film stars Ruben-Ernesto Reyes and Carlos-Jesse Tayeh. We have an exclusive trailer for everyone to check out down below!

Here is the synopsis for Luz.

Ruben Gonzales is a young Latino man who’s fallen into the world of the mafiosos. When an accident leads him into incarceration, his relationship with the cartel and with his family is strained. While in prison, he falls in the complex hierarchical system until his cellmate and eventual lover Carlos, comes to his side and helps him find emotional and financial stability. When the two me are released from prison 2 years apart, they again meet on the outside and while dealing with the circumstances that had them incarcerated in the first place, they ponder whether what they once had was real or just two people hoping to seek light in a dark place.

Luz

It’s not necessarily a point of view that we often see in prison films. It would seem that you form relationships with people out of necessity. Out in the free world, would you have even given that person the time of day? It will be interesting to explore the emotions and decisions that come with these two individuals having the choice to or not to interact with each other.

Dark Star Pictures’ Luz will be released in select theaters on March 19th on DVD and Digital on April 6th.
