New PS5 Launch Trailer Centers On Exploration – No Game Footage

Check out the new PS5 launch trailer below. Like the previous launch trailer, this one does not feature anything in the way of gameplay. Instead, some live-action montages of Human exploration dare the consumer to explore, well, the PS5 of course. I don’t feel anymore compelled to purchase a PS5 after watching this. Though, I have already purchased the Xbox Series X, so that’s unsurprising isn’t it?

Check it out for yourself.

The only relevance to the actual PS5 console is the small shot at the end. However, this is not something new is it. Sony will have teams of marketing experts telling them what to show in their promotional material. I have a feeling that Sony, nor Xbox wants to focus too much on the games. For a start there is not a ton of next gen exclusive titles coming out. There is also the fact that the visual experience on this new generation is not going to blow consumers away. At least, not in the way that previous generational leaps have done. I still remember buying an Xbox 360 on the strength of the Gears of War trailer.

Instead, this generation will be about different upgrades, but relevant ones. The extra power and speed of the Sex and PS5 will allow better frame rates, better resolution, and faster loading times. I am personally excited to get my Xbox Series X on November 10th, (if it arrives on time?). The game I am mots excited to play though is Destiny 2 new expansion Beyond Light. The game is firmly from the previous generation, though it is getting an upgrade soon. However, the simple extra speed will be a game changer for Destiny players who currently play on console. There is still plenty of new games coming out to keep early adopters of both new consoles happy.

What do you think of the new PS5 launch trailer? As always, leave your thoughts below.
