New Ralph Breaks The Internet Sneak Peek Showcases A Hard-To-Understand Merida

This past Friday, Disney released a new sneak peek at their upcoming animated sequel, Ralph Breaks the Internet. In addition to showing off Gal Gadot’s upcoming racing character, Shank, the sneak peek also featured an already-iconic moment showcasing Merida’s strong Scottish accent.

In case you were wondering, what she’s saying is “I gave my mammy a cake, she turned into a big bear. My old yin (father) tried to do her in. If that’s not pure mess, I don’t know what is.” This “translation” was approved by our resident Scot, Cam Clark.

It’s capped off with a fun one-liner that pokes fun at her being from the other studio (the other studio being Pixar). It’s a great moment, and one of many that the studio is pulling from those Disney princess scenes. Given how much we’ve already seen from those moments, I hope they haven’t revealed too much of what we can expect. With the film likely clocking in at two hours or less, it’d be nice if they mined some other areas for content. Yes, the princesses look hilarious…don’t spoil it any more, please!

Below is the official synopsis for Ralph Breaks the Internet:

Ralph Breaks the Internet leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to theworld wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the Netizens–to help navigate their way, including Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of the trend-making site “BuzzzTube,” and Shank (voice of Gal Gadot), a tough-as-nails driver from a gritty online auto-racing game called Slaughter Race.
