New Ready Player One Poster Is Filled With Nostalgic Goodness

With its delicious medley of many of cinema’s beloved franchises, Ready Player One is set to bring forth the perfect mix of pop-culture and nostalgia. With the bearded one (Steven Spielberg) calling the shots behind the camera, this film should be an instant classic.

In a new poster for the film, you can see the Iron Giant, the van from the A-Team and the famous monster truck Bigfoot, absent from this piece of promotional material is the DeLorean from Back to the Future, which has seemed to be a centerpiece for the marketing campaign. This film definitely warrants a theater trip. Personally, this is probably my most anticipated film of the year, behind Avengers: Infinity War.

The film’s official synopsis follows below:

“The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance). When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.”

Ready Player One hits theaters March 29.
