One of favorite video game franchises is Capcom’s Resident Evil, which as of late has been doing very well. The latest re-imagined classic Resident Evil 2 was a huge success for them earlier this year. Also the previous release, Resident Evil 7 was a critical success with it’s first person look. So what’s next for the franchise? We might not have to wait very long to find out!
Capcom has recently put up a teaser website for a game they are calling Project Resistance. What makes the lettering interesting is that the letters R and E are in red while everything else is in white, making it a little obvious that this is a Resident Evil. On the site it says “Capcom is embarking on a new project”. This could mean that they are going to be talking the franchise in a new direction. Could it be trying a multi-player game again like Resident Evil: Outbreak?
Since the announcement some low quality images have been leaked online by a Reddit user who was able to snag some screenshots, which are reportedly from the Project Resistance teaser trailer. Although tiny, they seem to hint at a possible four player game. We won’t have to wait too long for more details as the trailer will be revealed on Capcom’s YouTube page on September 9th at 8am PST.
For those lucky to attend the Tokyo Game Show Sept. 12th to Sept. 15th at Tokyo’s Makuhari Messe, they will be able to see game play at the Capcom booth. If you register ahead of time, you could also have the change to play Project Resistance at the show.
