New Rumor Suggest Star Wars Series The Acolyte Release Date

According to the Barside Buzz, an official trailer for The Acolyte is being prepared, plus the episodes will not be over an hour in length.

In the midst of anticipation for the highly-anticipated series “The Acolyte,” created by Leslye Headland, Star Wars fans have been eagerly awaiting news of its release date. While specifics have been kept under wraps, a new report from Bespin Bulletin suggest that the show is targeting a release sometime in the second quarter of 2024. However, it’s worth noting that the film and television industry is currently facing significant challenges due to strikes by both the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).

Lucasfilm does have a record of being vague with their previous Disney+ Originals release dates. Traditionally the announcement of the release date usually comes around the 6 month mark. The lack of clarity in the release window could also be attributed to the ongoing strikes. As a result, Disney, along with Warner Bros. Discovery, are in the process of adjusting their film and television schedules. This includes the possibility of delaying certain films and tv shows slated for release this Fall, as SAG-AFTRA members are currently unable to promote their projects during the strike.

“The Acolyte” was showcased in trailers at Star Wars Celebration in April and Disney’s Upfront event in May, confirming its planned release in 2024. However, the trailer has yet to be released to the public. Our best guess is we won’t see a trailer until the Ahsoka series has been fully released.

“The Acolyte” is set during the High Republic era and revolves around a former padawan and her Jedi master investigating a series of crimes. The show boasts an impressive cast, including Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung Jae, Dafne Keen, Manny Jacinto, Jodie Turner-Smith, Charlie Bennett, Rebecca Henderson, Dean Charles Chapman, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Margarita Levieva.

As we look forward to the release of “The Acolyte,” it remains to be seen how the ongoing strikes will impact the final release date. Nonetheless, fans can expect an exciting journey into the Star Wars universe, exploring sinister forces beyond imagination.
