We are a little over two weeks away from the release of the re-imagination of ABC’s 1970’s-1980’s series called Fantasy Island. The American fantasy drama television series stared Ricard Montalban as the mysterious Mr. Roarke, who granted guests “fantasies” on the island for a price. He was joined by his assistant Tattoo who was played by Herve Villechaize.
Fast forward a few decades and we will now be treated to a twisted version of Fantasy Island. This time around, Blumhouse takes the classic series and gives it a horror twist with Michael Peña taking on the role of Mr. Roarke. Yesterday Sony Pictures and Blumhouse released a new trailer and poster for the film. You can check out the trailer above and the poster down below!
As you can see by the trailer it looks like the realization of fantasies is too good to be true as they take their desires and give it to the guests in a dark twisted way. I am interested to see what twists the film has that can either make or break it. Peña is joining on screen by Maggie Q, Lucy Hale, Austin Stowell, Jimmy O. Yang, Portia Doubleday, Ryan Hansen and Michael Rooker.
Fantasy Island is directed by Jeff Wadlow, based on a script written by him along with Chris Roach and Jillian Jacobs, which is inspired by the original series that was created by Gene Levitt. The film was produced by Jason Blum, Marc Toberoff and Wadlow. Executive Producers on the film are Couper Samuelson and Jeanette Volturno.

Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island arrives in theaters February 14th, 2020.
