So we got no Cap 4 trailer last night as claimed (it dropped today) and there’s no Professor X in Deadpool & Wolverine. An exploration of entertainment news from leaker and trades alike. Bit of a fun post today as I have zero axe to grind here. I think it just proves that any publication can make mistakes, even trades. also that sometimes fans are too quick to lambast leakers for small mistakes.
Let’s start with the rumor that a trailer for Captain America: Brave New World was dropping yesterday. We covered the story in the link below and it was a claim made by Nexus Point News. I said in the original article that predicting trailer is a mugs game. Well, they were a bit late, but that trailer just dropped today and you can find it in the related link below.
The outlet then apologised and claimed the trailer had been delayed (Clearly it was). Of course the scoop community instantly turned on them for being liars. It happened to us as well in the past. Truth is, they had legit information. Though, perhaps not as precise as they had thought. Pretty good if you ask me though.

In other words, don’t be too hard on leakers for taking a punt. I am reminded of the day Daniel RPK was predicting times for a Sony/Marvel trailer. Every time he predicted a new slot, they delayed it until he stopped, then they dropped it. They were teasing him. That’s the trailer game folks, and there are only a select few leakers who I find to be very accurate with them. Therefore, I count this as an absolute win by Nexus Point News. Oh, and since Daniel RPK also said the trailer was coming, I knew it was legit, as per my comment above. Fans need to trust RPK on trailers. He may not get the exact time right, but he’s rarely ever flat out wrong.

Our second story in this lesson (It feels like that right, I’m going into lecturer mode). Deadline released an article in which they claimed that Patrick Stewart appeared in Deadpool & Wolverine as Professor X. Given it came from Deadline, people just assumed it was true. However, a few leakers, in quite a brave move, came out against the trade. MTTSH was one in particular who simply said, it wasn’t true.

Well now Deadline has changed the article in question and there is no longer any mention of Patrick Stewart. Of course, it’s the internet, so here is an image below proving it was there.

Though, because Deadline hasn’t come out to say they were wrong, some fans think they were told to delete it because the spoiled the cameo. Others claim they were just plain wrong and deleted it when they found out. I guess we won’t have long to find out which is which?
So, yeah, don’t believe every rumor you see. However, don’t be too hard on leakers for being wrong. After all, it happens to the trades as well. anyone remember THR recently getting some big claims wrong? I’ve seen it happen to Variety also. Yet most social media sites will tell you the trades have 100% accuracy in any reports.
Oh well, no Cap 4 trailer dramas that were proved wrong and no Professor X in Deadpool & Wolverine. Well, at least for now, one will definitely drop at some point and the other remains to be seen.
