No Comic-Con? No Problem: DC Sets Up Huge Virtual Event DC FanDome To Include The Batman and Black Adam

DC FanDome Announcement

2020 has been a very difficult year that has forced many to have to adapt. With theaters closed and conventions canceled, studios have had to find different ways to promote and release their content. For films we have seen many be released straight to VOD. For conventions like the mecca of pop culture, San Diego Comic-Con, there are virtual conventions set up. One notable missing name from their line-up was DC, who was rumored to be planning their own separate event. This morning we now have confirmation of that event and some of the details.

DC FanDome

On August 22nd, starting at 10 a.m. PT, Warner Bros. will launch a twenty-four-hour event called DC FanDome. This free global event is going to contain a wide variety of TV, movies, games, and comics from DC. So far the announcement tells us that it will include some of the cast and creators of DC titles like Aquaman, The Batman, Batwoman, Black Adam, Black Lightning, DC Super Hero Girls, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, DC’s Stargirl, Doom Patrol, The Flash, Harley Quinn, the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League, Lucifer, Pennyworth, SHAZAM!, The Suicide Squad, Supergirl, Superman & Lois, Teen Titans GO!, Titans, Watchmen, Young Justice: Outsiders, and of course, Wonder Woman 1984.

The DC FanDome will be the exclusive place for all DC announcements, latest news, and exclusive footage. Throughout the day there will be special presentations to engage fans all over the world. There will be localized events taking place all over the world that you’ll be able to enjoy virtually. So it doesn’t matter where you live or age, the DC FanDome has something for you.

Since this is going to be a massive event with so much content, the DC FanDome has been broken up into different themed worlds that are designed to entertain everyone including the little ones. Its epicenter is the Hall of Heroes. Here you can check out special programming, panels and content reveals from a wide variety of DC properties. This will be available in several different languages including, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.

From there you can dive deeper into the DC Multiverse by exploring five more satellite worlds. Each of these will include its own localized content and unique activities. You can check out the map of these worlds as well as descriptions of each down below!

This looks like quite the line-up of DC content for one day. I am curious to know with the different worlds, if like at conventions, we are going to have to pick and choose events in case they overlap. Or if everything is going to be available for us to check out for the twenty-four hour time period. As a DC fan I am excited to see what announcements they have for the mentioned Black Adam, The Batman, and of course the Justice League Snyder Cut. We’ll keep you updated with news of the DC FanDome are released as the event gets closer.
