Noemi Gonzalez plays Suzette Quintanilla in the new Netflix, Selena: The Series out today! Suzette Quintanilla is the sister of the late Mexican-American singer. She was the drummer in Selena y Los Dinos and continued to be as Selena continued as a ‘solo’ artist. Along with her brother, A.B. Quintanilla was the guitarist/composer and managed by her father, Abraham Quintanilla Jr.

Noemi Gonzalez is known for playing Soli in the Hulu Original series, East Los High, and Mia in the classic, The Young and the Restless. Shortly after took a part in the Daytime Emmy nominated series, Dark/Web. Earlier this year she was seen in the action, drama, The Tax Collector.
I had the opportunity to speak to Noemi Gonzalez via Zoom in October while still filming Selena: The Series. She shared her experience playing Selena’s sister, Suzette Quintanilla, and the work ethic it took to learn to play the drums for the role. In addition, she shared a little bit about her personal experience as an actress on how she manages her major roles.
