Yesterday saw a story from The Illuminerdi propagating an Obi-Wan in Andor rumor. The outlet claims that Ewan McGregor will have a recurring role in Andor. We know McGregor is currently in LA getting ready to film Obi-Wan Kenobi, so this one caught be by surprise.
Now, As far The Illuminerdi goes, I think they’ve gotten some decent scoops on Marvel movies and others. Star Wars though, I have no idea? I think there is a chance we might be able to get this piece of information confirmed either way and LRM has reached out to two sources who I think would possibly have some information on this one. However, until I have had a chance to wait for replies, I will be keeping a few grains of salt in my back pocket.
Now, our friends over at KRT have talked about this rumor yesterday and they seem to think this is very plausible. However, they did not confirm this is happening through their sources, they just think it’s a plausible scoop. However one thing KRT did suggest in their latest video, was that Ahsoka herself could possibly show up. Check this tweet below.

However, in the video itself it appears this is not necessarily as scoop as it is a theory. KRT know Dawson has a contract covering multiple shows and was heavily involved in the Fulcrum program with Cassian is connected to. That’s unless KRT got some word after their show aired? So really, we are in speculation mode here other than the initial report from The Illuminerdi. I’m naturally a skeptical person, if KRT had confirmed the story through their source, well I trust them. But I just have a bad feeling about McGregor being in Andor. Surely it would have had to be very on the downlow, and with Andor still filming in England, when did McGregor shoot scenes for Andor. It has been pointed out to me by my colleagues that McGregor could be shooting scenes in LA using The Volume. If this was just a small cameo to set up events for Obi-Wan Kenobi then I’d be less skeptical. However, if this is a recurring role?
Is it possible that Andor sets up events which connect into the Obi-Wan Kenobi show? Absolutely, and if so it would make sense for McGregor to appear. However, Kenobi actually leaving Tattooine regularly makes no sense to me. If something is importnat enough for Kenobi to leave once or twice then sure. Of course, this could all simply be holo-messages between the likes of Bail Organa and Obi-Wan, without McGregor actually being on set?
