Obi-Wan Kenobi Release Date And Poster

Obi-Wan Kenobi Release Date And Poster

Finally we have an Obi-Wan Kenobi release date and a poster. Late yesterday, Disney had a press release for Obi-Wan Kenobi that came with a brand new poster, see below, and a release date. I actually guessed this correctly in my previous article debating when we might see Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s premiere. Wednesday, May 25th!

Given that Star Wars Celebration begins on Thursday, May 26th, it just made a lot of sense for me that is this show was hitting in May, it would be the 25th, and here we are. Check out the pretty nice poster below.

Given that we know Obi-Wan at least begins this news series on Tatooine there is not much we can use within the poster to speculate wildly upon. However one wonders if this marketing push is planned to be slightly ahead of some kind of trailer release? Given that Super Bowl is this Sunday, could we catch the first Obi-Wan Kenobi teaser trailer? There have so far been no rumors to to this effect. However, I wouldn’t rule it out for now. After all, it was only six days ago I was debating when we would see the Obi-Wan Kenobi premiere.

There is also a new interview that star Ewan McGregor has just completed discussing the show a little which I will also be covering later today. Therefore, begun the Kenobi marketing has! Hence why I think a teaser could also be imminent.

It would fair to say that Obi-Wan Kenobi is probably the most hyped new Star Wars project since The Force Awakens. Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Inquisitors, Owen and Beru Lars, the pieces are there for what could be a great story. Of course, execution is everything and doesn’t always pan out, see the finale of The Book of Boba Fett for an example. So I hope Disney really made sure this show looks like a film rather than a TV series. There will 100% be fans who hate episode 1 of Obi-Wan Kenobi and declare Star Wars is dead. The question is rather which side of the fence will you fall on. I’ll be astounded if all Star Wars fans love something because everyone seems to want different things from Star Wars these days.

I thought Episode 6 of Boba Fett was the best Star Wars… anything in almost 40 years. It didn’t take long to find some fans who thought it an abomination worthy of crucifixion. Such is Star Wars and its fandom.

Leave any thoughts below on the Obi-Wan Kenobi release date and poster.
