Obi-Wan Series Lands Mandalorian Director

For The Mandalorian, Disney locked down many enviable talents to take on episodes. One such talent was Deborah Chow, who has helmed episodes of shows like American Gods, Better Call Saul, Lost in Space, Mr. Robot, and Jessica Jones. Now, it sounds like Disney is turning back to her with their other high-profile Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series.

That’s right. Chow will be returning to the world of Star Wars, though it isn’t clear if she’ll be directing the whole show or just a few of the episodes. At this time, we also don’t know if it will be six or eight episodes long.

Chow’s resume clearly speaks for itself, but in addition to that enviable filmography, Disney re-upping with her is proof that they’re happy with the way things have turned out with her work in the past, which is great news for The Mandalorian.

Of course, Ewan McGregor will be returning to play the esteemed Jedi Master who would go on to mentor Luke in A New Hope, so we all have high expectations of this thing — just as my dad had high expectations of me before I told him I wanted to go to film school.
