I have the feeling that some big changes are coming to Star Wars in the future. The fan base is split, though no one seems overly happy. We have some fans declaring their love for Star Wars is over and they have no interest in the franchise now. Also, we currently have no one attached to the next movie, which surely won’t happen by December 2022? Then, we heard rumors, later confirmed, that the Obi-Wan Kenobi focussed show was delayed due to script issues. So what is it this week? Well, now the rumor is that the Cassian Andor starring show is now also delayed due to script issues.
The GWW has revealed their sources have informed them of the delay. The show was due to start production around June of this year. The outlet says this has been pulled and no new start date has yet been set. Check the social media post below from Thomas Polito who writes for The GWW.

Now, in an effort to try and add more weight, or debunk this rumor, LRM has reached out to our own sources. Sources who gave us accurate info on the Obi-Wan situation when there was a lot of confusion. We will let you know what they come back with, if anything, in due course, regarding this Cassian Andor news.

I personally (just like with Obi-Wan), do not have an issue with this show being delayed if they want more time to work on the scripts. I feel like Star Wars so far has tried to do too much too fast, usually with the scripting process being the area that suffers. The final script for The Rise of Skywalker seemed to appear within weeks of being started. I also have to be honest and say I think that the script was a mess.
As a fan, I want Lucasfilm to ensure that each and every movie or TV show they produce, is as good as possible. The only way to attract back fans to Star Wars is to make sure each project is as good as it can be. Marvel Studios has proved that if the quality remains consistent, the fan base will grow. I’ll therefore never have an issue with delays due to scripts needing to be tweaked. Scripts are the start of the process and if you don’t get the foundations right, the structure collapses.
