Once Upon A Snowman Trailer Shows Us Olaf’s Beginnings

Once Upon A Snowman

Back in 2013, Walt Disney Animation gave us an animated film that captivated the hearts of young and old alike with, Frozen. The Academy Award-winning film introduced us to the funny warm-hug loving snowman, Olaf. He was created by Anna and Elsa when they were little. But then brought to life by Elsa, during her song, Let It Go. You may have heard it before right? Since then we have seen the lovable snowman in the Frozen sequel and an animated short.

But Disney and the animated team wanted to answer one question about Olaf. What happened to the snowman during his first steps? The all-new Walt Disney Animation Studios short, Once Upon a Snowman, takes us on that journey. The film follows Olaf as he comes to life and searches for his identity in the mountains of Arendelle.

Yesterday, during the Frozen Fan Fest, Disney+ dropped a trailer for Once Upon a Snowman, you can check it out below!

The animated short is directed by Trent Correy, the animation supervisor for Olaf in Frozen 2. As well as Dan Abraham, veteran story artist that boarded Olaf’s When I Am Older musical sequence in Frozen 2. It features the returning voices of Josh Gad, Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, and Chris Williams.

This is a very fun short that I will talk more about on Wednesday. I think this could be the beginning of more shorts with the lovable snowman. It’s a fun short story that fills a short gap in the first film. Then again that is just me really being a fan of the character. Let us know what you think of the Olaf short by leaving a comment down below!

Disney’s Once Upon A Snowman debuts on October 23rd, 2020 exclusively on Disney+.
