Oppenheimer Featurette Titled Pushing the Button Explores Christopher Nolan’s Vision

Oppenheimer

Oppenheimer may be the film to watch this summer on the large screen, but on the biggest screens possible.

Christopher Nolan invested much time in his vision, from the story and characters to the IMAX cinematography and actual sets/locations. There are no punches pulled for Oppenheimer in telling the tale of the experiment that may end the world.

Here is the official synopsis:

Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer is an IMAX-shot epic thriller that thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world to save it.

The film stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer and Emily Blunt as his wife, biologist, and botanist Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer. Matt Damon portrays General Leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project, and Robert Downey, Jr., plays Lewis Strauss, a founding commissioner of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.

The rest of the cast includes Florence Pugh as psychiatrist Jean Tatlock, Benny Safdie as theoretical physicist Edward Teller, Michael Angarano as Robert Serber, and Josh Hartnett as American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence. Also in the film will be Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, Dane DeHaan, Dylan Arnold, David Krumholtz, Alden Ehrenreich, and Matthew Modine.

The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin.
