Oration Films’ Angel Drops An Emotional Trailer [LRM Online Exclusive]

Angel

From director Koen Mortier, comes the Belgian drama, Angel. This looks like a very interesting film, where appearances and reputations can make you a victim of a circumstance. Imagine two people from very different walks of life coming together and falling for each other. Only to be ripped apart by a tragic event. Angel looks like it’s going to be an emotionally charged film.

Oration Films has granted LRM Online an exclusive first look at the trailer for Angel. You can check it out below!

Here is the synopsis for Oration Films’ Angel:

Nominated for the Magritte Award for Best Flemish Film, the acclaimed film follows the encounter of a prostitute, Fae, and a world-famous athlete, Thierry. During his vacation in Senegal, he falls head over heels for the African beauty. They find dignity and hope with each other in order to get out of their troublesome situations.  But more important than these mutual desires, they found love.

Until, later in the evening, Thierry starts behaving strangely, under the influence of substances. Fae is forced to leave him but when she discovers  that Thierry has passed away the next morning, she’s arrested despite her innocence. To move on with her life, she must return to the place where it all started.

Director Koen Mortier wanted to portray the world, dreams and fears of Fae and the story of what she goes through meeting the world-class cyclist. In a way they lead similar lives: both have to give the best of themselves and their bodies to delight fans or clients. ‘Un Ange’ is based on the acclaimed novel ‘Monologue of Someone who got used to talking to herself’ by renowned Belgian author Dimitri Verhulst. Previous work by Verhulst that has also been adapted are ‘The Misfortunates’ by Felix Van Groeningen and ‘Problemski Hotel’ by Manu Riche. ‘The Latecomer’ has yet to be directed by Lourens Blok.

Angel looks very interesting and we look forward to finding out more as information is available. I am curious to see the cinematography. Especially the angles for the shots that is going to rely so much on the emotions of the characters.
