Are far as crews of spaceships, Star Trek has been in the news quite a bit lately, with talk of their small screen shared universe and the announcement of a Star Trek animated series. Today we get a teaser from a different kind of space crew, the crew of The Orville. The sci-fi dramedy series coming from Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane (who also stars as Captain Ed Mercer in the series) will return for its second season on December 30. The Orville took television by surprise during its freshman run, becoming a huge hit for the Fox network. I really enjoy the show, my only issue was that in the early episodes it seemed they show runners had not quite figured out the balance of comedy and drama, though this became more clear as the season went on. The series provided some great episodes during its first season and was significantly more popular than Star Trek Discovery.

Along with MacFarlane, the show stars Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, and also features Peter Macon, Halston Sage, and Scott Grimes.
