Back in 1988 we were first introduced to Chucky, a doll possessed by the soul of a serial killer in the film Child’s Play directed by Tom Holland. Since then there have been all kinds of sequels that have brought us to this point, a modern day reboot.
Child’s Play from Orion Pictures and MGM, directed by Lars Klevberg stars Aubrey Plaza as a mom that gives her son a Buddi doll for his birthday, but the doll has some bad intentions. Gabriel Bateman and Tyree Henry also star in the remake of the horror classic.
A few months ago we got a first look at the Buddi doll via a viral site and then received a decent teaser trailer. Then a few weeks back at the WonderCon panel we learned who was going to be the voice behind the possessed doll, none other than Mark Hamill. Besides his iconic Luke Skywalker role in the Star Wars franchise, he is also very well known for his voice as the Joker.

This week we know have more information about Buddi as the studios have released our fist look at the doll, you can check it out below. We see that the overalls and the multi-colored long sleeve shirt is back. His name “Buddi” is embroidered on his chest. He seems to be a little slimmer than the original doll, with sleek skin and slicked back hair and of course the knife.
Here is the official synopsis for Child’s Play:
A contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic, CHILD’S PLAY follows Karen (Aubrey Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Gabriel Bateman) a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature.
