Although Logan is only a handful of months past his retirement, it sounds like there’s at least one actor hoping to carry the mantle. The man in question? Mr. Scott Eastwood himself.

When asked by ComicBook.com who he’d like to play, the actor paused for a moment before saying:

“Weapon X. I mean, Logan! You gotta give it to Wolverine! Wolverine, all day.”

It’s definitely not outside of the realm of possibility. Eastwood has certainly made the rounds of big budget films as of late. He hit the Fast & Furious gang in Fate of the Furious — with the promise of likely coming back later — he had a small role in the DC flick Suicide Squad, and he’s currently promoting his next big film Pacific Rim Uprising, which co-stars John Boyega.

Hey may not have quite made his mark in any hugely identifiable roles just yet, but given how many films he’s looking to get into, it’s only a matter of time. But is Wolverine a role that can be recast?

Hugh Jackman had a fantastic run as the mutant, and in a recent feature, our own Dave Kozlowski felt that Logan was a character that needed to be retired, at least for the foreseeable future.
