Patti LuPone Gets Warning From Marvel After Spilling Agatha: Coven Of Chaos Details

Patti LuPone got in trouble recently from Marvel after spilling some Agatha: Coven of Chaos details to the press.

Confirmed by the actress herself, Patti LuPone got in trouble recently from Marvel after spilling some Agatha: Coven of Chaos details to the press. I will cover off what LuPone originally said below. However, when speaking on Vanity Fair’s Little Gold Men podcast, LuPone admitted she was admonished by Marvel Studios.

“I got in trouble. Marvel security said ‘Patti! No more talking!’. They were nice about it ’cause they saw how enthusiastic I am.”

Look, some actors are better at handling the secrecy than others. Especially when an actor has no experience of working with Marvel previously. The actor gets asked about what they are working on, and they answer. 99/100 that’s fine for any project, but we know Marvel likes to keep details secret. When there is a slip, sites like LRM are quoting and running it right away.

As for what LuPone did say previously? It was not too spoilerific to be honest. LuPone confirmed she is playing a witch and that she is part of a Coven alongside other cast members.

“There are witches in the Marvel world. So, we are a coven of witches and the witches are: Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza, Sasheer Zamata and Ali Ahn.”

LuPone also mentioned that Joe Locke is their ‘familiar’ in the series.

Let’s be honest, none of this spoils the show in anyway. Knowing there are other witches just makes sense. I honestly don’t think we even ran the story at the time because there was so little to it. I mean, I guess we know Patty is playing a witch as are a few other cast members, but that’s it.

Frankly we’ve seen worse. Remember when Mark (Spoiler King) Ruffalo declared that everybody died in Infinity War much to the chagrin of Don Cheadle who was standing next to him? Of course we’ve also had actors stick to the script they were given even when the game was up long ago. Remember Andrew Garfield maintaining he was ‘not the werewolf’ after images had been leaked showing he and Tobey Maguire’s return in Spider-Man: No Way Home? It’s also not always a bad thing to have a few details spoiled. After all, would No Way Home have been that much of a success if the inclusion of old Spider-Men and villains wasn’t hyped up before hand?

Agatha: Coven of Chaos is still filming in Atlanta.
