Patton Oswalt Would Be Up For A Ratatouille Sequel

Pixar has a wonderful track record of quality. Sure, it’s not perfect, but they’ve given audiences some of the best animated films ever made, and to be honest, I think some of the best films period animated or live-action. The studio is incredibly particular about making sequels to their hit films, and as far as Toy Story, they’ve absolutely nailed it, to a point where it’s arguably the most consistent franchise ever, as far as consistency of quality. Other sequels such as Cars 2 and Monster’s University, didn’t quite live up to the original films.

One of the better Pixar films that while beloved by many, doesn’t seem to get the attention of their other films (especially considering Brad Bird is involved), is Ratatouille. The heartwarming story of a rat who, with the help of a busboy, gets to realize his dreams of becoming a world-renown chef. Comedian Patton Oswalt voiced Remy the rat in the film, and was asked during a recent interview with Deadline if he would be up for a sequel, you can check out what he had to say below.

“Ratatouille definitely taught me just to relax and trust my voice a little bit because I was in there, I said, “I’m going to bring a voice to this. I’ve got to bring a character to this.” They’re like, ‘No, you can just use your own voice. We just want you to talk like yourself and to do that and see it like work. That just was really, really gratifying and filled me with a lot of confidence for future jobs.'”

While it’s not my favorite Pixar film, I do like the film, and would rather Pixar had made a sequel to it instead of the above-mentioned Cars 2. I love how Pixar chooses to tell some of the most unusual stories that don’t seem like they would ever work, especially for younger audiences and they mold them into these wonderful tales that almost always deliver on several levels, yes, the folks at Pixar can spin some ripping good yarns.
