Patty Jenkins Discusses A Third Film As Well As An Amazonian Spin-off

One of the highlights of DC’s big-screen efforts as of late is Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman. Actress Gal Gadot was fantastic in the lead role and the film was well-received by both fans and critics. Later this year fans will be treated to a new adventure involving the DC icon in the upcoming sequel.

Director Patty Jenkins recently spoke with TotalFilm Magazine and discussed a third film. As well as a spin-off involving the Amazonians, you can check out what she ha to say below.

“I’m not going to nail down a fresh thought about it until this movie comes out, because I kind of want to give myself a palette cleanser, and be fresh of mind. But yeah, there’s an arc that I have in mind for the first movie, and then the second movie, and then the Amazon movie, and then the third movie.”

Jenkins continued saying while she has the idea in mind for future films. However, she wants to take a step back after the upcoming sequel, and simply produce the films, leaving the behind-the-camera duties to someone new. Check it out below.

I’m not going to direct it, hopefully. I’m going to try really hard not to. It’s not going to be easy. But [WW84 co-writer and former DC Entertainment President and Chief Creative Officer] Geoff Johns and I came up with the story, and we sold the pitch, and we’re going to get it going. I’ll produce it, for sure.”

I really enjoyed the first film, mostly because it was a solid film, but also in part because it was a win for DC who at the time was struggling to find their place in the world of comic book cinema. I look forward to the sequel no matter if it’s released in theaters or immediately to home platforms.
