Paul Bettany’s Han Solo Character Is An Intergalactic Gangster

Solo: A Star Wars Story, is a film that has definitely had its ups and downs during its production. With a nearly unheard of directorial change four months into production, Hollywood veteran and Oscar winner, Ron Howard, was brought on to ensure a finished product worthy of the Star Wars label.

While it seems we only know the negative sides to its production, a new bit of information about the film comes today from actor Paul Bettany, who gave fans some insight on who he is playing in the film while speaking at the Rhode Island Comic-Con:

“I’m not sure. I might get sued is that answer to that one. I can’t answer that. But obviously I am a very cool intergalactic gangster.”

It’s not much to go on, but it is something. This film is likely to be filled with space swindlers and hustlers, so Bettany’s words aren’t really surprising, now it is all about what kind of gangster will he be? A friend or Foe to Han and Chewie?

Bettany came on to the project as the film’s massive reshoots conflicted with the schedule of Michael K. Williams. It is said that Bettany is not replacing Williams so much as an all new character was written for Bettany.

Solo: A Star Wars Story opens May 25, 2018.
